Ack emma
As Joto suggests, 'ack emma' were the phonetic alphabet code-words back then for 'AM'. Today, it would be 'alpha mike'.
likewise ack-ack for Anti-Aircraft fire (though I suspect it also sounded like 'ack-ack)
