Why can't England play rugby

Is this the same England that are the world champions? Granted our form of late isn't brilliant, and granted we are missing Johnson and Wilkinson, but so what. Like all sports a lot of success is about form: we hit the peak of our form (having beaten everybody else before the RWC anyway) last November, and became the world champions. I'm glad we hit form last November and become world champs than a couple of months ago when we lost to the Aussies in a nothing competition. In my life time there has nothing been quite as sweet as beating the Aussies in their back yard to win the RWC.

going through a period of rebuilding, blooding young players following retirements etc, suffering from injuries and burn-out, suffering a lack of motivation for relatively insignificant games following RWC triumph. Numerous factors really. We'll be OK for the next 6 nations.
