For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.More accurately, 23 pairs, in each nucleated cell. Rather more in the body as a whole, but each cell has a set of exactly the same ones, except for eggs and sperm, which have half a set each.
In males, of course, one chromosome "pair" is not really a pair, as it's one Y and one X. Only in females is it 23 full pairs, as they have two Xs.
