Who came up with the phrase "Im having a whale of a time", also why? I think it would be more suitable to say "Im having a moth of a time. lol thanx xxxxxxx

For example, someone might have said: "I'm a whale on geography" to mean he was very knowledgeable in that subject. So, to have a whale of a time meant an especially good one.
