has anyone had carpel tunnel surgery and if so can you tell me anything about it

You're probably best posting this in Body & Soul section, as it's not a phrase or saying query.
I had it done in November last year on my left hand. I was off work for about 6 weeks as my job is manual. The surgery itself is about 8 minutes start to finish and is performed under a local anaesthetic. You will have to wear a bulky dressing for about a week and then they take that down to a much thinner one. Stitches are removed after the second week. You should also then be referred for physio.

I have found a vast improvement in my hand since the surgery although I still have bother with it occaisionally but nothing like it was before the surgery. If you are considering having it done I would say go for it as it cant make it any worse.
