It is so very true. We only know one because of the existence of the other. Love is naught but grief wearing its Sunday clothes.
Benjamin Franklin said that a spoonful of honey attracts more flies than a gallon of vineagar. I think he meant that it only takes a little pleasantness towards people in general to gain many friends and acquaintances but if you are bitter, acid, and critical all the time everyone will avoid you.
