Oh dear, I hope I'm not asking a question with too obvious an answer. I've noticed that many ABers replying to posts sometimes end their reply with the letters 'lol', or they simply type that as a reply.
Sorry, but I don't know what it means. Can anyone tell me please?
if you dont put lol. at the end of an answer, some abers jump out from behind the bushes an SHOUT at you. its difficult to translate a sense of humour at times, especially to the non scottish abers , and the females lol! ps i am a female .
I use lol all the time, to me it indicates I am in a 'happy' mood, some people don't like it but who cares? as long as it isn't interpreted to Lots of Love , then I am happy...LOL X
Fred, I actually suggested in my earlier response what one could use instead. My proposed acronym represented a straightforward statement of fact rather than an ambiguous, silly or even meaningless one. It does not require the next sentence to begin in any particular way. Thus, I might write, "ILOL at Fred" in reference to an earlier contribution from your good self to a thread...maybe even this one!
Hi Andyvon...No need to have apologised for not knowing what was meant by LOL. I didn't really know until about 8/9months back. Just kept wondering why so many ladies kept sending me lots of love.
Anyway, although a number of ABers have given to you a few 'clickable links' I would like to add to the list.
