Is anyone out there familiar with any American sayings?

A friend of mine emailed this to me and I can't for the life of me work out what it means.
Apparently It's an old Oregon saying that goes... "DON'T DANCE WITH THE MARIACHI BAND IF YOU DON'T HAVE THAT OLD TORTILLA TWIST IN THE OLD SHOE HORN"

Any ideas would be very welcomed.

This means nothing to me. I can't think that Oregon is/was over-supplied with mariachi bands.

You might need to attract the attention of Clanad for this one.

If clanad is from Oregon then hopefully he or she maybe able to clear up this riddle for me.

The .co.uk is the clue about the site. We do, however, have a wide spread of people from all over the world on here and you might be lucky. Clanad is the only regular US of A visitor that I can think of right now.

Scotman I was given the site "Theanswerbank.com" and this is what I typed in and have just noticed that it changes to "Theanswerbank.co.uk" weird! Thanks I'll keep an eye out for Clanad when I'm next on.

Seadogg another great perception of this wonderful saying. Maybe this could be one of those sayings that could be like an art piece where everyone has a different take on it and they're all right? Either way I'm getting more intrigued by the minute.
