Never heard of nobbler, it's called a crust in Stoke.

I've heard it's being called the HEEL and also the OUTSIDES but never nobbler. That's a new one on me.

I've always called it the nobby
Always called the end of a french stick a "nob"
Must be a regional name. We call ours the bird's bit.
