Some time ago I had a small paperback which gave, amongst other things, the translation of foreign phrases. The book is lost and I can't remember its name. Can anyone help, please?

allthough i can not think of a specific phrase, these words are typically put together but where are they from.
Don't ask me why, but hubby is curious to know if anyone knows why we call 'wee' just that, where did it come from. He does wonder about strange things, sorry to bother you with it but I don't know.
