What is a quarang? Like the one on Skye.

The Skye one is a rock formation. Click here for a picture. (There appears to be a variety of spellings, so check out 'quirang', too, on Google.)

Thanks, Quizmonster. Great photo, but been there, done that. Just wondered if it meant something in the gaelic.
The word is not listed in The Oxford English Dictionary which isn't averse to including Gaelic-sourced words. However, that's not to say it isn't Gaelic, of course. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
I have heard a number of meanings one being "pillared stronghold" and another "split and uplifted ground"
