the letters I have is ??T?A?N but if UTTERER is correct for Speaker, then the letters are U?T?A?N
Don't know how old it is, but UPTRAIN fits.

Many thanks for your help, I spent over 2 hours trying to find the answer in dictionaries, thesaurusies, etc. but no joy.
Not many Sunday Post readers would get that answer!
