Spotsbatmans, the only rhyme I know (apart from the contrived one for the tv series of many years ago which isn't the original!) is as follows.
One for sorrow.
Two for mirth.
Three for a funeral.
Four for a birth.
Five for heaven.
Six for hell.
Seven for the Devil, his ane sel'.
Eight for a wish.
Nine for a kiss.
and ten for the state of joyous bliss.

Hope this helps, and stop whistling that damn theme tune to Magpie...
