I'm stuck on the very last nuance of this. Could somebody please tell me what I am to make of "Robin of Fife"? I know which letter I need to swap in, but I can make no sense of it in any position.

That much I had guessed, but I cannot see anything that makes sense. Is it somebody's name? A place?

few places it can go ...

Perhaps giving too much ... it refers to 5ac. and you should have very
limited choices there ... check each one in Chambers.

RossR - i'm sure you have tidied up your loose end [i've just seen your post] - only wanted to say i enjoyed this puzzle and liked the dip into current affairs and pop culture - took me a while to get the 'sorry 4' bit, despite the awful reruns! i'm also struggling to move on as far as the ******* ******* go.
