An Iranian court has ruled that a man who blinded a woman with acid because she refused to marry him should be blinded as punishment.

TWR, if that were true there'd me no murder, rape, or any other crime in countries like Iran.
It is no deterrent there and it would be no deterrent here.
Don't forget that in countries like Iran victims of rape are punished as well as the rapist. It doesn't encourage victims to report the crime, does it?

think it might be more justice if he had to pay for her carers for the rest of his life and then if he dies the onus should be put on his family. his also being blind does nothing positive and by blinding him only shows bitter vengence

it is fair, have you got any idea what its like to be blind ? my poor hubby has lost his sight thru diabetes, have you got any idea how this poor young woman's life must have changed ?I know ours has.

Taking away someone's sight is such an awful thing to do.
