I know how frustrating it can be to be stuck for a couple of answers after slogging away at a crossword. But can anyone explain what possible satisfaction anyone can get from asking for and being fed all the answers and then just filling in the grid?
I think we some times need a bit of patience with some questioners. My daughter has learning difficulties but still likes to try crosswords. I think Pinky has tried re her answer to the Messiah question is it Moses.
Surprises me that so many people clearly would rather immediately enter a question here rather than open a dictionary. Having said that, many people are looking for explanations as well as answers.

It's not always a dictionary answer. I agree that if a whole list of questions are asked, it can be irritating, but not everyone can decipher cryptics. I'll answer a few on a list - particularly if people may not realise that they are anagrams.
Although I complete a lot of crosswords I am stil grateful for help on a couple of the sticky final clues, particularly if those who answer give explanations.
I can understand people learning how to solve cryptic crosswords, might need explantion, or help. But if you can't solve a general knowledge crossword by using your own memory, a dictionary or google, you are just free-loading.
The satisfaction vallaw, is solving the mystery when you've tried all of your dictionaries and text books. It might be the last answer remaining and its nice to complete it and learn something from others. Or if it might be useful to take an answer from here to get you going again when you're stuck on a crossword.
Either way its all harmless fun and keeping the brain working.
I take OP's point. Last week or so someone requested help with no less than 30 clues from the same crossword. There can't be any pleasure or self-satisfaction in that.
It makes me so cross with people who are too lazy to Google some answers or use a ref book, yes we all get stuck at times with the exception of Lie In King who is the greatest and shows such patience too, but some people last week were really out of order.
sometime even when you have consulted the internet and the encyclopedia the answer is still not forthcoming, after all, these things are never foolproof neither am I unfortunately
Oh! Are we not self opinionated prigs!!
If people want to 'cheat' is that so wrong?
Thank goodness some of you are not in government or else I might be up against a wall.
Live and let live!!!
This is the MOST WONDERFUL place of last resort!
I get a bit puzzled about folks that post almost their whole puzzle, though. That's just odd, and is a bit cheaty IMO ;-))
Bravo Treetops and Madcapv. I sometimes feel irritated by the notion of freeloaders, so it is good to be wared off such mean-spiritedness. We have the option of silence.
I don't think "mean spirited" comes into it?
Some people practically post WHOLE puzzles!
When was the last time you saw someone seeking answers "just for the fun of it"? Nope, they don't. It's ALWAYS prize puzzles.
there isn't, and as far as i know there were three threads on that quiz, if you don't attempt some yourself, what is the point of doing a quiz, crossword.
I only ask for help when i have pulled half my hair out, and even then i don't want to.
