Said it before, but heigh-ho...
Yes, it's easy to Google. Perhaps that action brought the person to AB? They may then have thought, "I'll get my answer AND some friendly chat! Oh, I can ask about lots of other things too! Should be fun..."
I think a person (new or established) might be upset upon receiving a snotty reply such as, "Google it yourself", "Use the Search facility", "Already answered many times" or some such, having believed this to be an open, friendly site called "The AnswerBank."
How is it easier to type such a reply than to simply answer the question?
How often do we see - in every section of AB - a link to an outside source or previous answer? They're provided by the person answering as a further point of reference & show that they WENT & DID THAT WORK anyway, with apparently no complaint.
Do you ever see, for instance, Buenchico provide one of his fantastic answers, complete with 2, 3 or more links, prefaced with "You're so lazy & I almost couldn't be bothered, but here you go..."? No, you don't.
I'm convinced that most (especially new) AB'ers enjoy "speaking" to a real - even if unknown - person, something you won't get from simply surfing. I'm also sure that as we almost NEVER know a user's personal circumstances, we have no right to judge them.
I'm not going to answer any more threads like this one - there isn't enough alcohol to numb the pain...
PS I give in - LOL! It's not a race :-)
