Hi fellow EVers

You are probably as disappointed as I am by this EV. It has to be the easiest
one I've ever done and I wonder how it came to be accepted for publication.

EV is supposed to be a step up from the Spectator etc. & I hope this is just a one-off.

Hi kayakamina - Could you let the uninitiated (me) know what the EV is and where it can be found.
Question Author
Hi

Enigmatic Variations can be found in the Sunday Telegraph puzzle section.
"enigmatic variations" in the Sunday Telegraph - similar standard to speccie, azed, mephisto i believe
Question Author
Hi roslyn

It is usually a good deal harder than the other puzzles you mention.
Thanks
Morning K - I'm just guessing, I don't have the telegraph since I joined Times Xword Club! Have you had any wins lately?
Question Author
Morning Ros

I don't submit many crosswords, just the themed ones. I won an Inquisitor recently and an EV a few months back.
I could send you last week's EV if you like as it was much more of a challenge?

K
Morning K, you clever old thing.

Hope you're well.

Hi JJ

Not so much of the old please! - even though it's true.

K xx
Of coure I meant "old" in the affectionate, rather than the literal, sense.

Well, I become an Octogenarian in a few months. I still classify myself as elderly rather than old!

K x
I just classify you as very jolly, and very clever.

Hello K
Populated the grid very quickly, looking for the "connecting flight" now!
Totally agree with you K
Good afternoon All - it must be an easy one, even I've rattled through the grid in record time, just haven't found the connection yet. I don't know about the rest of you but I found it deeply unsatisfying, rather like a badly written book that one feels obliged to read to the end .
Oh dear! I've just had another look at it............................like it even less now!
Oh dear; I just logged in and have seen all your comments. We are in the US at the moment and the h-g was looking forward to having something to get his teeth into later on.... especially as the title seems so apt.

We are staying off the slopes this weekend (President's Day weekend is the busiest day for the resort... goodness knows why as the weather is always bad and you have to share lifts instead of getting space to yourself!). However, we are catching up with our sleep and have nearly got to the stage where we are missing the little people (a very loose nearly!).
On the easy side of the ledger, certainly, but nothing wrong with that on occasion (as long as it is not the start of a trend). I did spend more time on the Sunday Times this week than EV!
At least it will be good for Christina if she is sitting at the airport (it was today she travelled wasn't it??) as she won't have any need for the BRB with attendent carriage problems. How do you all feel about the new central red bound interesting word lists in the 12th edition? They have left out the Forenames section which is strange as it is stated as apossible requirement in the first week of using the new edition!! By the way, have we had Moordon before?
