I have solved many clues and one of the variation words but have no idea of the theme.

Here are two for which I need help.

23D Pederast tangled in parts of harness (8)

Am I thick? Have all answers apart from 8A. If need only the middle letter (I think) but I can't see a sensible fit.

I'm in the same position as you mathsman with regard to 8ac.

Also - for 32 down I have an answer (I think it is all that will fit) but don't see the connection to theme word 'B'. What am I missing? I've solved the rest.
