Hi shooty- I agree that it isn't always clear that a question has been answered because all the answers are off the bottom of the screen (because the ad next to 'best answer' is so big.
But my query was why so many new users join, post an answer, then immediately duplicate their post.
I suppose they submit it once and assume it hasn't worked because they still only see a blank 'best answer' box. (Although why they don't then try a third time I'm not sure.)
I think shooty's idea is a good one (assuming the Ed isn't willing to reduce the size of the ad next to 'best answer')

Actually a simple solution might be to have the orange bar with 21 to 25 etc above the best answer and ad space rather than below. Although I still think some people will self-satisfyingly post the answer long after others have done so!
Try "Hubbard".
