I think 13a is POPS: Piano works, light classical pieces. If so then 7d Children's play area with bar for protection (7) - - N - P - T looks like SANDPIT, but can't see the wordplay for either of these. At least, I see the wordplay for POPS, but can't see the relationship to classical music. Thanks.

as for pops, light classical pieces are intended for mass appeal and the word is perhaps most famously used by the Boston Pops Orchestra

you're welcome, and I couldn't find a reference that gives a definition of pop that explicitly mentions classical music
