Dropping Out of the Race

I've not been providing answers for very long, but already I'm finding it is almost like a race to get in first, occasionally leading to misleading or near-incomprehensible replies. Seems to me like a lot of duplicated and wasted effort.
So, I've decided to sit back for at least ten minutes, and if a thread is not fully answered by then, to have a go at what is left. I already sort of follow that line, by trawling through recent questions -for pointers for future use - and sweep up if I see any glaring omissions.
Does anyone else feel the same?

i do. i answered a question the other day within one minute, when i returned to the thread there were three persons who had answered before me

I don't bother with Q&P too much these days .It used to be my favourite section but there are too many little dictators roaming around it now .
I have an answering spate now and again if I'm bored.
