6dn. New semi originally put people up for spells?(4,3) W?S?,M?N I asked this question earlier and it was pointed out that it was wise men anag. of new semi I had seen this but didn't see the (put people up for spells) I did thank everyone that replied and asked for an explaination but it seems to have been over looked.

If you insert a semicolon into the clue, it reads slightly differently:
New semi originally put; people up for spells.
'New semi originally put' means rearrange 'new semi'.
'people up for spells' means people/persons who are up for (i.e. ready for/able to do) spells.

the Wise Men were Magi, magicians. They might have cast a spell or two
