14 across - drunkard came back for old plonk (3) I have S?T but can't decide if it is "sot" for drunkard or "set" for plonk?

set, sot is drunkard, replace the o (old) with e ( the back of came), set is to plonk or put down.
SET - i read the clue to mean that (cam)E replaces O(ld) in SOT
