There is no clue Factor?Its not a cryptic its the Indie GK crossword & there is a connection,usually simple?

Okay, the question as stated in the paper is not clear, if the answer is that you can form words by adding ies. You can just as easily say you can add an S. It may not be IES of course- i'm just going off what someone else said on another thread. I'm not sure what GREENIES are.

I think the answer is more likely to be a word or name for it to be a proper connection

I have to say the indie GK can be littered with misspellings!Katmandu as an an example maybe sum mistake?
