4D College briefly emerging from decline in poet's tale (5)
REED?
The answer could be REEDS (the Reeds of Runnymede?)
but how to explain College?
Thanks.

Sorry. I got busy with other things and just noticed your comment.
Yes, today's Azed was comparatively easy.
I have started doing Azed crosswords only recently (May be 2 years).
They always look tough at first. But I look for anagrams first.
My knowledge of Scottish and French is next to nothing, so I have to use Google and Chambers wizard. Also to verify words I am not familiar with such as in 6D or 19A.
The wizard does not always offer answers to anagrams. There are two in today's puzzle.
But I feel good when I solve Azed or Guardian Prize puzzles without
any help other than Google and the wizard.
I am happy that I can always rely on experts like you when I get stuck.
My thanks to the answerbank for providing a platform and all of you very helpful experts who never hesitate to provide the correct solution.
I hope solving crossword puzzles per fas et nefas is allowed.

hankir
