Thanks ...but I don't understand OMAN
I don't either but it's consecutive letters.
Let's hope that Mark will explain.
frOMANother
This is the third time you've asked 26d- presumably you weren't happy with the previous suggestions of OMAN.
Is the clue exactly right- e.g. are there any dots to link it to a previous question?
Is there a theme that may be relevant?
We can see that but how does it fit the clue please?
Adding to factor's post, titles like "Two Crossing Clues - I'm Stumped" tell us precisely nothing! There's a title builder in the Crosswords subsection which allows you to build a meaningful title. Which crossword is this, please?
My question was addressed to Mark who appeared to be confident of his answer.
No ? after his answer and capital letters used.

Mark....it is the third time i have posted this with no luck so far - I usually use the title builder but decided not to this time as I keep getting this answer OMAN which makes no sense. I wa hoping to get some fresh ideas. This crossword is RTE GUIDE NO. 39 and the clues typed exactly as printed.
Process of elimination, really.

Given that the pattern is now O?A?, the only words I could fit into that were:

OCAS
OKAS
OKAY
OLAS
OMAN
OPAN
OPAL
ORAD
ORAL
ORAN
ORAS
OVAL

and, from those, the only one which made any sense at all was OMAN because of frOMANother.
You could go on this forum and ask the person who finished what he put for this one
http://www.crosswords...rg/forum/279808/rt-39
I'd be interested to know as, on the basis of the clue, OMAN doesn't satisfy any element of it. There is no indicator that it is a hidden word and the definition appears to be 'find some'.
I strongly suspect there is at least one word missing from the clue.
Hi crosswordfan- what is the clue number please for the 'Oman' one- your post says 26d but I think that's a typo.
post @ 12:27 says it's the RTE guide (Ireland)
It seems I may be wrong about that- I assumed RTE39 and RT39 were teh same crossword.

What was the preceding clue please crosswordfan?
Has anyone considered the possibility that the answer IS "Oman" (which it surely is) but that it just isn't a very good clue?
We may have to, ichkeria, as I've asked on a couple of other RTE threads for the poster to confirm the exact clue for 26d or explain OMAN but I've not had any response. If that's the clue it's a poor one and may be a misprint by the RTE as the OP is certain that's how it appeared
