I have filled in the crossword but the straight definitions make no sense to me. I know that Rupert Murdoch said at the Leveson inquiry that papers would die out within ten years. Any help would be appreciated.

Try adding things owned by the Dirty Digger to the answers you produced. So "Pas" becomes "hobbies" when a certain newspaper title is added.
The straight definitions all include the name of a newspaper which then has to be deleted to leave the answer to be filled in the grid, e.g. if the answer were 'starship' you would delete 'star' and fill in just 'struck'. By the way, it is 4 down that is defeating me! Andy
Once you get the answer from the straight definition, you then have to delete the name of a newspaper and then enter the remaining letters in the grid, e.g. if the answer were 'starship' you would delete 'star' and enter 'Ship'. By the way, any clues on 4 down??
There yet, westonrs400? Think 'zodiac'.
