Yes indeed. Back to the Friday Club again. Fairly straightforward, although I got the theme very early on, but that was just the luck of the solving sequence. Perhaps a Listener to ensnare a few newcomers ? Thanks Raich.

About a quarter done so far - one or two hurdles that need crossing to make more progress but happy with where I am at the moment. No idea what the theme is yet, my extra letters aren't giving anything away easily!

Some satisfying, rather clever stuff in the endplay, I thought, once I'd sorted out in my head a curious reversal of locations, for which I have no explanation save temporary topographical insanity. Might be down to the fact that I actually remember this "drama" being played out, so the little grey cells may be crumbling a bit.
Once again, reverse engineering came gave considerable impetus to solving the more recalcitrant clues.

Missed out on the Friday club but much more of a solo effort this time so worth the wait. A very pleasant representation of the theme, that finally came to me when I had (most of) the name of the last character.

It happened somewhat before my time and I remember being very underwhelmed when I first heard the story!

One of the crosswords that I had to keep focused, partly because of the two almost opposite gimmicks. Occasionally I put the wrong letter into the wrong category, but once the theme was identified it progressed more rapidly. Enjoyable, aesthetic grid and i have now learnt more of a topic that i knew little about before solving this puzzle. Thanks Raich

Didn't find this quite as straightforward as some of you. Took a while to realise the theme, then would have got on better if I had been able to spell one of the characters correctly.

I think this is one where if you get the theme quickly the resolution of the clues becomes much more straightforward. Sadly I was not in that category and had to tease the theme out through the letters to took a bit longer. All the same a decent challenge. Thanks raich.

This must have been relatively easy since i solved most of it on a plane, with only a few wordplays to check once back in wifi range. Enjoyable nonetheless, and two weeks in a row where solving did not require detailed knowledge of london subways or flying scotsmen, so huzzah for that.

Particularly enjoyed the end game on this one. Never completely straightforward but steady progress, though found that initially solved many more of the second category of clues that the first, presumably because these result in real words in the grid. Unlike some others did not identify the theme too early on into the solve, and even when done still took some further effort to decipher the possible outcome. Thanks to Raich.

Looks like an easy par 3 compared to last week. Mostly done on a car journey. Peeved that we were close to the endgame in 4209 but not quite there. Still battling on with 4211. In that latter grid, does hole 5 supply most of the jumble in column d?

While thrashing around/testing a theory in relation to 36 across in the BRB I found a reference to the correct answer which contained a spelling mistake! My world has come crashing down and I will never trust anyone again.

Only just got back from a lovely walk in the Moelwyns. Not looked at this yet - I'm not as compulsive as some. Just want to congratultate some of the recent setters, particularly the setter of the Euler puzzle. Wonderfully concepted and constructed. I see that Leeds fans are still letting themselves down : The Times today (Sport p. 10) cites 'vile' Leeds fans - chanting abuse about an opposing manager cleared some time ago of sex abuse, and attacking an opposing player. It's never over is it Leeds ?

I didn't find it as easy as some of you (out on the hills Friday, so little done then) but certainly not too hard. No way I could have done it on a plane with no books, though! Quite fun, thank you Raich. Next weekend is (too?) full of grandchildren; crosswords will be totally out for me so maybe I'll be here again in a fortnight.
