Dja, thanks - a gentle start to the day this week.
Thanks again DJA

As always, once you have the theme it comes together quickly.
Thanks again, Daniel. Have a good weekend!
Thanks asusual Daniel. You were certainly on the case very early this morning! Much appreciated.

That's what having a 7 month old does for you Barry. It feels like mid afternoon already
Although i have most of the grid the theme still puzzles me
For 1d my letters are H?E?O?A?Y?I?AN so I think I have gone wrong somewhere?
Can anyone help please?
Your 'a' - the one in the middle - is wrong.
All done now - I had my oil wrong at 21a!
Thanks Daniel.
I don't understand the preamble. Can anyone please enlighten me?
zita-green,
There is a Golden Jerusalem flower - Rudbeckia hirta - maybe that's it.
Probably there was a title Golden before in the Spectator, hence the II.
Can anybody confirm?
Oh, and thanks again Daniel
Hi Zita

There are 7 unclued lights which are all associated with 1down.
Many thanks, whatsthat & K.
Jerusalem the golden,
with milk and honey blest,
beneath thy contemplation
sink heart and voice oppressed:
I know not, oh, I know not,
what joys await us there;
what radiancy of glory,
what bliss beyond compare!

They stand, those halls of Zion,
all jubilant with song,
and bright with many an angel,
and all the martyr throng:
the Prince is ever in them,
the daylight is serene;
the pastures of the blessèd
are decked in glorious sheen.

There is the throne of David;
and there, from care released,
the shout of them that triumph,
the song of them that feast;
and they who with their Leader
have conquered in the fight,
for ever and for ever
are clad in robes of white.

Oh, sweet and blessèd country,
the home of God's elect!
Oh, sweet and blessèd country,
that eager hearts expect!
Jesus, in mercy bring us
to that dear land of rest,
who art, with God the Father,
and the Spirit, ever blest.
