Is anyone else doing this week's? Have enjoyed struggling to the end but have one letter left to fill in at 16a...
'Birds pecking at nuts? It's dry inside'. The definition has 5 letters, including an 'i'. The other letters are STT?, in that order. I just can't see this one!

I should have said "at least one 'i' ". 'TT' probably = the 'dry inside'.
