Jammies on! Welcome to the Mad Over Fifties Pyjama Party!

Tonight's Tailcock, the "Nightcap" a potent brew guaranteed not to send you to sleep (at first anyway). In addition to the usual selection of horses doovers and volly vonts, tonight's "hot plate" will be a delicious Mince and dumpling pie (courtesy of the Hairy bikers, thank you) also on the pudding trolley is a delicious fruit crumble and custard.

The minstrels will be back in the gallery playing a selection of mardigals and fugues and as a special treat, some lullabies and later on their interpretaion of the greatest hits of ZZ Top. For your further delight, we bring you at great expense the Performing Penguin Parade of Mr. Percival Potter! Who will be performing outside on the newly refurbished ice rink! A real treat indeed.

For the rofl I offer: 1 cat grooming brush (unused)
Pair of ice skates - one with a blunt blade
a cushion and a tie to attach it to the "derriere" in case
of slippage on the ice.

Carriages or sleighs will arrive at midnight.

Welcome to all who dare enter the portals on Nungate Towers

Fluffy won't be standing if I get hold of her.
Big bucket please Igor...thought Tony said Waxwings! Waxing....pah!

Just watched the teaser for Les Mis......looks so good.
May I offer a rifle prize? Or am I too late?
Question Author
definitely the nightcap it goes for the legs first

Question Author
Almost time for the rofl, I shall briefly adjourn to my chambers to prepare the draw.

If you will all excuse me a moment (or three)
I have a rifle, in fact I have five! Can I have a badge?
Oh Tony....at the airport the other week I went into the gents by mistake.
Well......you should have been there!
Oh bless, Nungate.
I had a mother with a penchant for coffee and walnut cakes. The baker round our way used to decorate them with walnut halves held on with blobs of cream. The strange thing was, there were walnuts on the top when we bought the cake but by the time Mum got it out the pantry for tea, all the walnuts had mysteriously disappeared and Mum had a guilty look on her face and traces of cream round her mouth.
I bet they all stood to attention gness lol.
And no you can't shoota, no badges awarded on this thread.

You know Mammar, I haven't baked a coffee and walnut cake for years! I recall making them often roundabout the time my dear old Dad passed away. I'm sure the recipe is still around in one of my books. I'm sure your mum only used the walnuts to remove scratches in furniture - I know I do (cats you know, so destructive sometimes)
Question Author
Now then. Time for the rofl. Does everyone have their tickets?
clutches ticket hopefully
I need to depart these fair nungate shores as that nougatcap has put me to sleep almost - whacked out and I don't know why - probably up to early this morning listening to the cricket...........so I will say Bonne nuit à tous, and merci buckets nungate for the evening.
What do you do with walnuts to remove scratches then nungate ?.
Good night DT, I'll look after your roffl tickets.
Rub cut walnut surface on wood scratch.
Ah right, thanks Daisy.

Oh, my giddy aunt! I've won the barbed wire! Be still my heart!
It's the oil in the nut, Tony. Like magic. Covers the scratch. Try it
Question Author
And very effective the walnut is too Daisy. For reasons best now to themselves Max and Henry keep trying to jump onto a small writing desk and since they sledom ever reach the top of it, the front gets scratched hence the need for the walnuts. Best beloved was very sceptical until he saw that they worked
Oh well done! I was dreading hauling that back home with me.
33 any good?
Odd that when you draw a raffle you either win or lose. Perhaps we should send a bran tub to Villa Park.
