Happy Christmas EVers. Unusually no postings for this puzzle so far. Perhaps we do have lives beyond the EV after all and we are all busy doing Christmassy things. However I did have some time this morning and once I understood what I had to do found this puzzle fair, straightforward and agreeable.

Hello both,
This is my first post for a few weeks. Started the hiatus by a holiday. Swiftly followed by an attack of the dreaded Norovirus! Despite the Vet's assurance that the virus had actually gone after 2 days of it arriving, it still took 2 weeks for all the symptoms to disappear, actually after 4 weeks I am not sure they have all disappeared. Fortunately I didn't have the vomiting aspect as well! It certainly affected my concentration! I didn't dare cough!
Enjoyed this weeks offering, and on checking a central down entry in the BRB the whole thing became clear!
Happy Christmas to all EVers, If the weather is kind enough we will be strolling along the seafront tomorrow and listening to the bands!

I had enough time to work this while the rest of the crew was off to brunch and a matinee of "Wicked" yesterday. The PDM took just long enough to keep me intrigued, so a good solid EV in my book.

Belated Christmas greetings to EVers. With all the other distractions I only got around to this week's puzzle today.
Reasonably straightforward once I had twigged the important down clue but I'm not 100% certain I have understood the Pun (if it is one) in the unclued light.

Glad you are feeling better DocHH. Some members of my family also suffered from that nasty virus.
