Might this be an anagram of Mercurial, and if so, why the capital letter? 2dn ---o Euphoric sensation, giving bird a way to escape.

Please can you clarify the clue for 24a (is Saga part of the clue or the name of the crossword?) and let us have details of the letter pattern. Thanks

Saga is the name of the crossword. 24ac. s-a- Old fellow, clumsy, but useful as a cleaner. (soap or swab--both would fit, but I can't see how either relates to the clue). 7ac and 2 dn as in my earlier posting. Thanks in anticipation.

Swab - double meaning, can mean a clumsy fellow as well as an aid to cleaning.
