In the US TV series "No Ordinary Family" Mrs X (a main character) made George, an attorney, very cross.

I just thought it was something to do with X being a Cross but I couldn't see where the George part came from. I agree that if it is a reference to the series it's rather obscure- unless it was in TV mag maybe
