I remember hearing the name Tubman on the radio as a kid quite often --but then I'm no youngster now.....................
..................and when one reads the link it becomes clear what a puppet of the Yankees he was: independence brought with it a constitution based on the U.S. one, denying the vote to the indigenous population! And Britain did the same with Sierra Leone! Amazing what you can learn about recent history, for example, in the course of doing a crossword!
