2d Extra word - "onlooker". Four letter word for "sees" around a 2 letter word for tree. Definition first four words.
8d Anagram - extra word "ostriches". definition first 2 words.
I have got to the end, but don't fully understand a couple of answers. This one has nagged at me for a while.
9 A. Extremely tiny antique US tool used in string theory (7) ?in?ma?
I can see 'minimal', which has mini (tiny, or extremely tiny) but I don't understand the rest. Any advice would be appreciated.
I am not sure HOW my answers work for the clues you mentioned!
1 D. Is just a piece of furniture - I don't know what the second half of the clue refers to .
28 D. I got this from a list of elements (and I had 3 of the 5 letters, so I should just have gone through the dictionary)
26 D. I'm not 100% sure of my answer for this, but 4 out of the 5 letters are definite.
At the moment I have only two things highlighted. Any tips re the third one?
Boreas, you're way ahead of me for the instructions - I have only letters, no words, so far! (so I can't assume that the three things I can highlight are all that's needed).
There are two extra words to shade in the grid.
And I have just worked out 1 down.
The third and fourth letters are a type of barbarian, shortened by one letter.
The 3 letters round this are an informal speech.
Boreas, thanks.
Glad you were able to work out the reasoning for 1 D. I knew I had the right answer but that was all. I'm off to have another look at the grid.
