Why do so many people do crosswords when they have to ask the answers to nearly all the clues. Seems a waste of time.

because a, sometimes the clues are so skewed that it is good to get a different slant and b, this is also a social site and it's good to chat. so chill out and have a good week.

Some of them have a huge number of questions. Some people just like being helpful to people. Either way, the clue is in the name of the site.....

I had a further thought - why does someone with a lot of questions post them all on separate threads, instead of saving them up and posting them all together (I have sometimes seen 10 or 12 questions asked separately from the same cruciverbalist. Putting them all together - now that would save time!

Because.. it is absolutely the most amazing fun to find out about things, especially in General Knowledge Crosswords - It is not what you know - what is exciting about that? - it is what you can find out that is so exciting - whether you work it out from what you dimly remember, whether you use dictionaries or encycopaedias, or whether you get help from addicts similar to yourself , on this helpful site. It is certainly not wasting time - it is using it to enjoy life more!
