Advice please:
16 a "Dismiss Paul Revere, might one say, then head off nut" (5,3)
I have *s*e*/ o**. I think the last letter might be t (see below) so that could give "usher out". I can see the definition but not the rest. Help needed please!
8d "Stay true, but regret not getting bathroom cleaner" (5). I have b*d** (and (see above) the last leetr might be t. So the answer could be "bidet" which meets the definition of the last two words. But again I can't see the logic of the rest except that "bide" sort of means "stay true. Masters, help!

A good one for me to end the brief period when I was allowed to do the jumbos again. (My mother had stopped me when i didn't do so well in my A level mocks as I should have done. She lifted the ban for the holiday but now it's back to the grind. I asked if she would extend the liberty period to let me try today's Bank Holiday competetition. She nearly exploded! So I backed off.... I look forward to meeting you all again post-exams in June, I suppose. Thanks for the tuition by all the Greats (Lie-in King, Bibblebub and the rest and those of you, like Nigel2 today, who have also helped turn me into a crossword junkie. I can't wait (that's daft! I have to!) until the exams are behind me and I can get back to testing my brain against these amazing people who set them. Thanks to them as well.
Wish me luck!
