All done bar17d - Exposed builder's bum starts to protrude above ragged denims - S?I?E?M?N. Only words that fit seem to be SPIDERMAN or SPIDERMEN, but just cannot see appropriate reasoning! Is it that abstruse?

A spiderman is was one who worked on building skyscrapers, and was thus exposed.
The bum refers to the letters which need to be jumbled to arrive at the solution.

OK Flyhalf got your reasoning, it was the word bum that I didn't latch on to. Perhaps our Setter got a little bit naughty as indeed he does from time to time!
