I've finished, but didn't do all the extra letters. Are you sure there is one? My answer seems to work without it - just another word for 'turbans', made up of some flowers and an ' non-U' relative.

I'm probably having a silly half hour ( or more). I've found most of the answers, including 5D, so I've identified the theme. I also know which word to highlight and am pretty sure which answers are "affected". However, I'm not making any sense of the extra letters and I can't think of what to do with those 8 answers. Please help. Any tips could restore me to sanity!
