best i can come up with is that 2 examples of whipping implements are:- cat- o- nine- tails which is shortened to THE CAT, not just 'a cat', and WHISKER, the agent noun form of whisk, which is to whip cream etc. so THE CATS + WHISKERS are the plurals of both which necessitates having a minimum of 4 items
