Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Somewhat surprised not to see another post earlier than this. Finished some time ago. Gridfill relatively swift, some of misprints quite hard to spot, but made early (correct) stab at title and then it all started to fall into place. Wordsearch at the end might have been helped by specifying total number of cells involved but few other quibbles. A good Listener, on a good theme, well represented in final grid. I thought there were some pretty tricky wordplays in there (indeed, still haven't understood 41a). Slightly familiar with the theme due to a link between the completing of the work and the school I went to, which brought a chuckle, but I have to say the pattern of shading I've ended up with isn't quite as regular as I would have expected. Apart from that, though, a nice Listener. Thanks Hotspur.

I suspect that most solvers will finish this one off and just turn to the next puzzle, but the original title is well worth reading, a must for cruciverbalists. Incidentally, congrats to Alekhine for overcoming grumpiness with humour. He deserves to trade in the Z cup for, what shall I call it?, the A cup :>)

I concur with many of the above comments. I also have a few wordplays to work out but am confident with the words that have to be highlighted.

Some nice obscure wordplay - good to see others puzzling over a variety of these. Think I have them now, but like Olichant, I found it difficult. Six words found, net not required!
