Right I'm off out on my bike ride. Wish me luck because I'm gonna need it!
Good luck, diz. Let us know how you get on.
Sorry, i have just seen the other thread. You are getting through it and I hope you're okay.
Are you saying you made the sculptures on that Rhapsody in Steel website? They are absolutely amazing!
that's okay Dizmo, when my beloved CS [ Chief Stout] was very ill & then died the A/bers were so kind to me I would not have got through the whole ordeal without their help, now if I can give something back & help others I am happy to do so. I think you are doing okay Dizmo keep putting your thoughts on here it all helps.

Well done, you all helped didn't you?
Hi Diz, we're always here for you, day and night. Thinking of you my friend xx
Hi Diz......I picked-up your earlier thread, last night, just before going to bed. However, I refrained from any comments: being fearful that I would find it difficult to go to bed and leave things unresolved...if you know what I mean.

You are obviously a very kind and sensitive person; although three times younger than myself. Yep, I am 81. However, I am Not a regular contributor to Chatterbank because I find it is often discussing matters which are beyond my comprehension.....and I say that with sincerity... O K there is a lot of nonsense but, when folk have real problems, it does appear that CB has more to offer than other sections of AB.

I would like to convince you that life is only beginning for you and the future could be worthwhile and you'll look back on life and say "It wasn't bad was it". Perhaps I know this as a fact but am refraining from admitting it.

I hope you didn't fall off your bike and can understand you ' hitting the bottle ' before breakfast.

Al.
I hope that you manage to recover from your cycle journey. :-)
alston, id like to see /hear more you more on AB :)

Well I got back ok, a nice easy bike ride.
Well done. Sore?!
diz,not to attend AA is fair enough, but what is the other alternative you mentioned in your post ?

anneasquith: It's called clearways. They are funded by the NHS and it's the only way I can also get help for my mental health issues.

Without getting really really frustrated with everyone can I just reiterate that I do not suffer from Depression it is a different form of mental health issue so stop labelling me as being depressed. I probably am depressed as well but it isn't the main cause of my problems.

The reason for that slight outburst was because when someone says "I have a mental health issue/problem" they immediatly assume it is depression.
diz, how often do you go to Clearways ?
Question Author
I don't. I went to the group meetings which I had to go to and now I have an appointment on Tuesday. I'm quite capable of stopping drinking but apparently I can get on Antabuse which I'm considering. I need to get to the bottom of my mental health issues so I can deal with them properly. Once I get to that point I won't need alcohol as a crutch.
Right, I see diz, have you not had to see a shrink yet about your mental health issues ?.
Good for you, dizmouth - I've been away so not seen the earlier threads (but I will look) - your attitude sounds positive tonight.
Question Author
I've been asking for help for years. I need a diagnosis but it just isn't that easy. The system is not very good at the moment and unfortuanatly that isn't very good for people suffering from mental health. Even my GP said that the system is poor but they have to use what is in place to the best of their abilities - ****ing useless.
