Not too hard a ride this week, but fun nevertheless. Thanks, Dysart.

A gradual series of pdms - not a quote I knew but finding the subject led to it fairly fast (and, as a sideline, some of the barbed comments aimed at the subject are brilliant) . Thematic items also helped with tricky clues I found.
Murphy's law .. last couple of weeks I had little time... this week had some time and easier.. hey ho.
With one of the trios (treated thematically) ... I think an 'argument' could be made for 3 possible answers (I know which one I am going to plump for as it 'suits' better but...)
I also think something is missing from the clue in 33d (well the way I have parsed it anyway).. although I expect that I'm probably missing something rather than the clue.

An interesting evening's work - didn't know the quotation, but it dropped out from the ODQ when the author was revealed.
My final grid looks like an explosion in a highlighter factory, but that's probably just me overdoing it for my own edification, rather than following the precise instructions.
Some nice clues - 42ac made me smile.
Thanks Dysart
