I am stuck on following crossword clue "can a dog go as this?"

I have the following letters "b?r?i?g " The obvious answer with a "dog" reference is "barking" but this does no make sense

Any suggestions please

I don't think that there is any doubt that the answer is 'barking' but I think that there must be 'mad' missing from the clue due to a typo or setter error.

I agree. Puzzle construction cannot always be taken as perfect.

Definitely "Barking".
