boxy, your dependants are dependent on you; I don't know of any way to remember that except knowing it.

stationery sellers used to have fixed shops or stalls in the market (probably near the printers) rather than travelling round the fairs, so they were stationary. Somehow the adjective and noun came to have different spellings, but they were originally the same word.

Useful to remember the E in stationery is for Envelope.
