Hiya please don't take my answers as gospel I really am stuck with this one,I think this is getting the hardest crossword I do,and I do quite a few.I see the answer to 22a given as sailing,but I don,t understand why.If sailing is correct I would then have ?c?n?

It passes the time annoyingly,I was thinking leisure would fit for 22a but then that knocks two more out,so I give up,for now,anyway.Sorry can;t help any further got me stumped,have you any brilliant ideas?
