blether

Blather
?BLATHER
looks like i'm getting outvoted here !!
with the Daily Record "you never can tell" !!
Ahem, blither.
Note the scottish reference:

blather [ˈblæðə] Scot, blether
vb
(intr) to speak foolishly
n
1. foolish talk; nonsense
2. a person who blathers
Both in Chambers, but I would go for blether as it's in the online Scots dictionary.
I'm voting for Sam1960 - blether
if a wrong tattler
Blether, or I've wasted a stamp. :)

I'll give the Record a phone tomorrow cassm, as i'm still looking for my tickets to the Christmas night out !! Fingers crossed they will admit again to a ambiguous clue and accept both answers. Will keep you posted..... if I don't get booted off, having a few issues with pc at the mo.
blether
I think you're right vakayu, but once again both answers are acceptable...... only in the Record eh.......... !!
I phoned the Record this morning to seek clarification on yet another ambiguous clue, unfortunately they never got back to me. Looks like we will now have to wait till Saturday to see where the compiler was coming from !!
