what's the clue for 17d?
What is the exact clue for 17d?
That's all the clue is.
It could be regressed?
Or digresser?
but what are the right letters? Does it start with a d or an r? I'm confused
I'm confused too. Could someone please set out the qn again.
Question Author
This is exactly the way the clue is given. d-------R(9) thats all that is given. Wondering if it could be regressed?
Only ' Defroster' fits your letter pattern......
How sure are you of those letters?
As Shoota has said, the only word fitting your letters is 'defroster.'
Bernie, please don't think I'm daft, but the letters you say you have are de_r_s_er and then you say you think the answer is regressed, which doesn't fit with those letters. That's why I'm confused

Did you see the clue i posted.d--------R (9)it is a capital R which i didnt notice early on so i thimk it could be regressed
Ahh I see
Yes Bernie but you also show ' the letters i have are de?r ?s?eR'
Are you now saying that the 'd' and 'R' are not placed by cross clues so it could be Re?r?s?ed?
I think it's regressed.....
